About Me

Helloooo - I'm Steve, and I'm a plane-a-holic. I live in North Lincolnshire with my wife, kids and dogs, I build software for a living and am allergic to manual labour.

I've been flying radio controlled aircraft from a "first person view" perspective since 2011 and I enjoy it a lot - you can't beat getting up early in the morning before the world awakes and watching the sun rise from the perspective of your plane a few hundred feet up - peaceful, calming and above all fun!

Plus, the wiring and "making things work" is pretty rewarding too.

Sometimes I like to stand and stare at myself.

So what's this then?

This, meaning this website, would be my blog - a place where I collect my thoughts on the hobby of "FPV Flying". FPV stands for "first person view" and what it boils down to is that I fly RC aircraft using a live video feed to some googles so it's as if I'm sat onboard.

I get to look around and see the world from a different perspective - it never gets old.

This particular shot was taken at about 6am looking South in a place called New Holland in North Lincolnshire at around 400ft altitude.

Cool - how does it work?

Check out my my FPV setup to get an idea on how it all fits together.

Are you one of those drone-flying perverts I've heard about?

Absolutely.
