Xiaomi Fimi A3 Overview

Picked this Xiaomi Fimi A3 drone up from Banggood (AFFILIATE LINK: https://bit.ly/2Lgzq3e ) because I reeeeeally wanted a ready to fly drone with decent gimbal and video without splashing out on a Phantom or something equally expensive. I saw this one on Youtube and decided I liked the look of it (and its feature set).

Suffice to say I'm really happy with it so far - it's nice to have something that "just works" and allows me to get on with the business of flying around looking at stuff rather than fretting about potential problems. The flight modes are really interesting as well, especially the follow-me which uses GPS built into the controller as well as the drone to keep them both positioned together - basically wherever the controller goes, the drone goes. Good fun :D

My version also has the updated firmware which is cool because it includes a "cinematic" mode to slow down and dampen the controls + gimbal response, making nice slow panning shots possible like the DJI quads.

I'm looking forward to spending some time with it - to be honest, it's been ages since I got so excited about flying so that is a bonus :D

I've even ordered a nice bag with proper cutouts to keep it safe and secure - so hopefully I can take it out with me on my back while I do some cycling.
